Blind To Love Dana Erlandson [E]Well the first time that I saw you I couldn't believe my eyes Walked right up to meet you, and much to my surprise You [A]seemed to look right through me To some place off, maybe up a[E]bove [B7]Love may be blind but [A]baby you're blind to [E]love So I've been hangin' around your corner. Walking down your street Waiting by your doorway for any little chance to meet My friends all say I'm crazy I don't know what they're thinking of Love may be blind but baby you're blind to love People spend their whole lives looking Here I am just waiting on you honey Wondering what you'll do What will you do Will you ever recogize it staring you in the face You tell your friends how you're looking for love Well it's all around this place You could get to like me Maybe all you need is just a little bitty shove Love may be blind but baby you're blind to love How long have I known you How long has it been How long are you gonna be thinking of me as just a friend Love may be blind but baby you're blind to love

Midnight Train Dana Erlandson I've got a [C]ticket. A [F]ticket for a [C]fast train. It's [F]leaving here this [C]evening with the [G]sun. And I've got a [C]reason. A [F]reason to be [C]leaving. I'm [F]running from the [C]law of man [G]and his [C]gun. [F]I can't give you anything but [C]promises. And a coat to keep you warm against the [G]rain. But [F]if you think that's all you need. [C]Meet me here this [Am]evening. We'll [C]get on board and [G]ride the midnight [C]train. I hear bloodhounds. And those bloodhounds make me nervous. I've tried to settle down but I just can't. Cause I shot a rounder. A rounder down in Texas. And Texas Rangers mean to get their man. Well they tell me. They tell me take the night train. Make that trip alone and travel light. But even an outlaw. An outlaw needs a woman. Someone to hold him warm against the night.

Illinois Plates Dana Erlandson Every [G]Friday afternoon about half past three. There's a highway phenomena that you have to see. On [C]any major road in any northbound lane. To [G]be out on the highway is a little insane. They're [D]bumper to bumper and they just won't wait. There [G]all headin' north wearin' Illinois [D]Plates. They're heading to Door County on a weekend run. To spend a little money and have some fun. Escape to Wisconsin is the call of the road. Pulling pop top campers and full trunk loads. Barreling down the road about 108. In my rearview mirror a pair of Illinois plates. [C]Fords and Chevys and Pontiacs too. Fleetwood Cadillacs and those BMWs. Buick Electras and Olds 88's [A]All decked out in those [D]Illinois plates. The Indy 500 has got nothing on me. When I'm heading north on old I 43. I'm a guitar picker trying to make ends meet I got the pedal to the metal and lead in my feet. I've called them on the telephone to say I'll be a little late I'm stuck out on the highway with these Illinois plates. Lord what have I done to deserve such a fate. Stuck somewhere in Dykesville behind Illinois plates.

Everything That Matters Paula Storace, Dana Erlandson You're the [C]sunshine in the [Am]morning. The [F]stars that glow at [G]night. You're the [C]warm and cozy [Am]feeling. By the [F]crackling fire light. You're [Am]all of autumns [F]colors. Painted [C]leaves upon the [F]trees. [C]You are [Am]everything that [Dm]matters. [G] You're a garden full of roses in a warm September breeze. The sky tied up in rainbows. You're a sailboat on the sea. You're all the songs I sing about the answers to my dreams. You are everything that matters in the whole wide world to me. And [F]I've been 'round [G]long enough to [C]see the people [Am]changing. This [F]world keeps on [G]turning spite the [C]strain. But [F]what we have a [G]strong enough so [C]darling you rest [Am]easy. Cos [Dm]you know me I'll always feel the [G]same. You're the reason I believe in a world that's filled with lies. Sunset in the evening is the warm glow of your eyes. And every night I thank the Lord when I get down on my knees. Cos you are everything that matters. You are everything that matters in this world. You are everything that matters in the whole wide world to me.

Tonight I'm Gonna Get Lucky Dana Erlandson Well you can [C]carry around your rabbits foot. You can [Am]stay away from ladders. But [F]I don't think it really matters. [G] Tonight I'm going to get [C]lucky. You can [C]chase the Blackcat from your door. And [Am]cover all the mirrors. But [F]I can't make it any clearer. To[G]night I'm going to get [C]lucky. [Am]I don't know what you've heard before. But [F]I'm going to hang around your door. No [G]matter what you think or you be[C]lieve in [C] [Em] [Am] [Am]You can run but you cannot hide. [F]Not the way I feel tonight. [D]I'm not given up and I'm not [G]leaving. Now you can throw the salt over your left shoulder. Go around knocking on all that would. I don't think it'll do much good. Tonight I'm going to get lucky Friday the 13th can come and go. I can live or live without it. I don't think too much about it. Tonight I'm going to get lucky.

Old West Wind Dana Erlandson [G]Send me down the highway number 29 I've got a [F]stout west [C]wind in my [G]face. Trying to push this pedal 'cross the county line. But [A]try as I may I stay [D]in the same place. I've got a [G]full tank of gas that gets a 100 mile. I can't [F]wait until the [C]turnaround [G]load. When that [C]old West wind is going to [G]slap my back. And [D]blow me on down the [G]road. This truck ain't more than a box on wheels. The weather isn't much of a friend. Gas flows like ice through the old girls veins Plowing along through these 50 mile winds. But with the wind at my back I've got to feather the gas. And look out for the State patrol. When that old West wind comes and slaps my back. And blows me on down the roaad. [C]Half the distance takes [G]twice the time. When you're [D]bucking a full force and [G]gale. But [C]turned me around and put the [G]wind at my back. And [A]watch this poor boy [D]sail. So get out of my way I've got a license to fly. And truck that's just itching to go. When that old West wind comes in slaps my back. And blows me on down the road.

Truck Drivin' Blues Dana Erlandson [G]You can only drive from here to there so many times. Til the [C]people lose their faces and the highway lose its lines. I got those [C7]truck driving blues [D]driving me out of my [G]mind. [C] [G] [D] Now I used to think that driving was going to be my style. But putting down the hammer now don't even raise a smile. I've got those truck driving blues driving me out of my mind With those [C]overweight loads and those terrible roads. [G]Son, you're way too early can you wait here for a while. Now the [C]weather's getting poor and my body is getting sore. [A]Hey son don't you worry it's [D]only a few more miles. Take that big wheel from my left hand take that shifter from my right. Bed me down on solid ground. I'm hanging it up tonight. I've got those truck driving blues driving me out of my mind.

On The Road Again Dana Erlandson [C]Your place is warm and the [F]feel is so re[C]newing. [F]There's coffee [C]brewing. And a [Dm]log upon the [F]fire. [G] [C]I'm heading home from a [F]long haul out of [C]Denver. [F]And I can't re[C]member when [G]I last felt this [C]fine. A few miles back I can tell you I was aching. This rig was shaking from the weight and from the load. But now I'm home and I know that in a short while. I'll see your sweet smile. And I'll forget the road. I'm [F]backing my old [G]Jimmy in the [C]junkyard. [F]It's a life that [Bb]I can't [F]quite ex[G]plain. You [F]know I love to [C]see you but I [Am]hate to settle [F]down. When the [C]morning rolls a[F]round. I'm [G]on the road a[C]gain. Now don't you cry when I have to pack it all in. The highways calling and my tractors running right. Before you know I'll be knocking at your back door. Here to see you once more. And dimming down your lights. And I'll be backing my old Jimmy in the junkyard. It's a life that I can't quite explain. You know I love to see you but I hate to settle down. When the morning rolls around. I'm on the road again. When the morning rolls around. I'm on the road again.

The Middle Of The Night Dana Erlandson There you go you're free again. What have you gone and done this time. You cut the only tie. The only tie that buying see you. It's really no concern of mine. But you know I wake up wondering. Why you'd throw away. The one good thing that finds you. So you keep on searching. But it never feels right. And you can't stop hurting. In the middle of the night. You blame the gypsy and your soul. I say you don't know the difference. Between freedom and falling. Was it something that he said. Something that you felt down deep inside. Or was it just the voice of another one calling. So you keep on searching. But it never feels right. And you can't stop hurting. In the middle of the night. Why don't you listen to me talking. You know I'm speaking your language. Why don't you open your eyes to the world that's around you. I'm not trying to push you 'round. I'm just trying to steer you clear. Clear of the dangers. The dangers that surround you. So you keep on searching. But it never feels right. And you can't stop hurting. In the middle of the night.
10.
One More Chance Dana Erlandson I [C]never was one to treat a woman unkind. [F]You could say that it never came to mind. [G]I'm the kind a guy or girl likes to find. A regular faithful [C]fool. But I can [C]only be pushed just a bit at a time. I [F]get kind of tired of you stepping out of line. I've [G]had enough of your fussin' and whine. I'll tell you what I'm going to [C]do. I'm [F]giving you one more [G]chance to say you're [C]sorry. [F]One more chance to [C]realize you're [G]wrong. Because [F]when the facts are [G]in You'll [C]see how true I've [F]been. And [F]you'll be sorry [G]then but I'll be [C]gone. Well I've told you once and I'll tell you again. You're married to one heckuva man. You better do the best to keep what you can. I think you better get it straight. Or they'll come a time when you're going to be sad. You're going to hurt and you're going to feel bad. You'll think a lot about the love that you had. But then it's going to be too late. I'm giving you one more chance to say you're sorry. One more chance to realize you're wrong. Because when the facts are in You'll see how true I've been. And you'll be sorry then but I'll be gone.
